Detailed Project Report (DPR): Ridge Interpretation Centre

Patel Chowk Metro, New Delhi | Client: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)

Developing immersive interiors and curated exhibition spaces for RIC.

The Ridge Interpretation Centre (RIC) is envisioned as an immersive public space designed to celebrate and interpret the ecological, historical, and cultural significance of the Ridge landscape. Located strategically above a metro station, the centre acts as a gateway between the urban fabric and the natural identity of the Ridge.

The design approach focuses on creating an engaging visitor journey through thoughtfully curated exhibits, interpretive zones, and interactive storytelling elements. The centre aims to educate visitors about the Ridge’s biodiversity, native flora and fauna, geological evolution, and its role as a vital green lung within the city.

With the walls and flooring already completed, the project’s current scope emphasizes the development of interiors, exhibition planning, spatial experience, and visual presentation. The design intent is to blend contemporary museum aesthetics with a nature-rooted narrative, ensuring the space remains visually impactful, informative, and accessible for diverse audiences.

The Ridge Interpretation Centre ultimately aspires to become a landmark educational hub fostering awareness, conservation, and a deeper connection between people and the living forest ecosystem.
