Dr. Devendra Pandey, a retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of the 1975 batch, is a distinguished expert in Forest Resource Assessment, Climate Change, and Sustainable Forest Management with over three decades of leadership experience at National and International levels. He has served as the Director General of the Forest Survey of India (FSI) and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) in Arunachal Pradesh, where he led large-scale forest monitoring initiatives using advanced tools such as Remote Sensing, GIS, and Statistical Modelling. His expertise spans Forest Biomass and Carbon Stock Assessment, REDD+ frameworks, and the Development of National Forest Monitoring Systems, contributing significantly to India’s forestry policies and global climate commitments. He has also made substantial contributions as an International Consultant and Advisor with leading global organisations including FAO, UNFCCC, IPCC, and CIFOR, working on Forest Resource Assessments, Carbon Accounting, and Climate Mitigation strategies across multiple countries. Post-retirement, he has continued to influence policy and research as a Domain Expert, Chairing National Committees, Guiding Scientific Studies, and Supporting Projects on Forest Carbon, Agroforestry, and Sustainable Livelihoods. His work reflects a strong commitment to Integrating Scientific Research, Policy Development, and Community-based approaches for achieving long-term Environmental Sustainability and Climate Resilience.

Praveen Chandra Tyagi, former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Chief Wildlife Warden (Head of Forest Force), Tamil Nadu, is a distinguished officer of the Indian Forest Service (1983 batch) with over three decades of leadership in wildlife conservation, forest management, and environmental policy. An alumnus of Wildlife Institute of India, he has held key positions including Director of Arignar Anna Zoological Park, faculty at national forestry institutions, and senior leadership roles in forest and wildlife governance. His work spans protected area management, biodiversity conservation, human-wildlife conflict mitigation, ecotourism, and participatory resource management, making him a respected authority in integrated wildlife planning. Mr. Tyagi has led major national initiatives including drafting guidelines for elephant conservation, zoo management effectiveness, and human-wildlife conflict strategies, along with spearheading international collaborations for species conservation. Post-retirement, he continues to contribute as a senior expert, serving on the Steering Committee of Project Elephant and as a member of the Expert Group on Zoo Design of the Central Zoo Authority. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, IFS (Retd.), former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Apex) & Chief Wildlife Warden, Tamil Nadu, is a distinguished conservation leader from the Indian Forest Service (1986 batch) with more than three decades of experience in wildlife policy, forest governance, and biodiversity conservation. A gold medalist from the Wildlife Institute of India and trained in geo-informatics from ITC, The Netherlands, he has held key leadership roles across major protected areas including Mudumalai, Anamalai, Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, and Point Calimere Wildlife Sanctuary. His work integrates science, technology, and policy to advance sustainable forest management, climate resilience, and human-wildlife conflict mitigation, establishing him as a respected domain expert in conservation planning and wildlife administration. Mr. Srivastava has contributed extensively at national and international levels, leading initiatives on elephant conservation planning, GIS-based habitat management, marine conservation, and national human-wildlife conflict strategies. He has represented India in global forums, served on multiple expert committees, and played a pivotal role in policy formulation, conservation research, and capacity building. Recognized with prestigious awards including the Chief Minister’s Gallantry Award and NTCA Excellence recognition, he continues to guide major conservation initiatives post-retirement as advisor, consultant, and committee chair, bringing deep technical expertise and strategic insight to sustainable ecosystem and wildlife management.

Shri Arvind Madhav Singh is a retired Indian Forest Service (1986 Batch, Assam–Meghalaya Cadre, Assam Segment) officer who superannuated as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force (HoFF), Assam. With over 35 years of distinguished service across State and Central Governments, he has held several senior leadership positions, including Joint Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India; Inspector General of Forests & Deputy Inspector General, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; Chairman, Pollution Control Board, Assam; and Professor at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun. An alumnus of Lucknow University (Geology), FRI Deemed University (Forestry), and University of Chennai (M.Phil. in Internal Strategy & Security), he has also completed the prestigious National Defence College (NDC) Course. He has represented India at major international platforms including UNFF, FAO, CITES, Commonwealth Forestry Associations, ITTO, and the World Forestry Congress, and has served as an ITTO Expert Member representing Southeast Asia. An expert in Sustainable Forest Management, forest certification, carbon projects, and sustainability standards, Shri Singh has made notable contributions to policy and institutional development. He received a Commendation Award from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry for developing the Vriksha Certification Scheme for the handicraft sector, significantly boosting exports. As Director General during his tenure(2022-2025) in the Network for Certification and Conservation of Forests (NCCF), he led the development of nationally benchmarked standards for Forest Management, Trees Outside Forests, Carbon, Ecotourism, and Safe Boards. Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Sustainable Green Economy (CSGE), he oversees projects related to nature-based solutions, wildlife management, policy advocacy, and preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) across multiple states. Ajay Kumar Lal, a distinguished member of the Indian Forest Service (Himachal Pradesh cadre), brings over three decades of senior leadership experience across environmental policy, forestry governance, and sustainable development. A former Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India, he has played a pivotal role in shaping national and regional frameworks on climate change, biodiversity conservation, environmental economics, and natural resource management. His international exposure, including leadership at the SAARC Forestry Centre, and contributions to major policy and SDG initiatives reflect his strong credentials as a policy and governance expert. As a Domain Expert at CSGE, he provides strategic advisory on environmental law, forest economics, carbon and climate initiatives, and sustainable development planning. A former senior Indian Forest Service officer, he has held key positions in policy advisory, master planning, climate change adaptation, ecological restoration, public procurement, vigilance administration, and institution building. He has successfully designed and implemented major development projects in collaboration with international agencies such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), and UNWTO. His leadership has been instrumental in formulating climate adaptation projects, developing sustainable tourism master plans, strengthening water sector reforms, advancing ethical governance frameworks in PSUs, and integrating technology-driven monitoring and transparency systems. Known for his adaptive leadership style, he has consistently focused on growth, systemic improvement, innovation, and delivery excellence. Post superannuation in August 2021, he continues to contribute actively in advisory and oversight capacities at national level. He has served as Independent External Monitor (IEM) for major public institutions, Special Monitor with the National Human Rights Commission for Environment & Climate Change, and Chairman of Regional Expert Committees for evaluation of protected areas. As Distinguished Fellow and Project Advisor to leading foundations, he has guided eco-restoration initiatives including development of a pioneering Eco-Restoration Model for the Aravalli Landscape under international collaboration, and community-based ecological projects in sensitive tiger reserve landscapes. He also plays a key role in heritage conservation, ecotourism certification standards, plastic pollution control initiatives in protected areas, and capacity building across sectors.
